Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Convita (the "App"), developed and published by Verdalyne Health Sciences, LLC ("Convita," "we," "us," or "our"), handles information when you use the App. Convita is designed around a simple principle: the App should need to know as little about you as possible to be useful. This policy describes exactly what that means in practice.
2. Information we collect
Convita has no account system. There is no sign-up, no login, and no registration of any kind, so we never collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other account-identifying information.
To provide its core features, the App does collect information you choose to enter directly into it, including:
- Diagnosed conditions and self-reported symptoms
- Food preferences and dietary restrictions
- Meal planning selections and shopping list activity
- Food and meal tracking history you log
You control all of this information, and you can add, edit, or remove it at any time within the App.
3. How your data is stored
All of the information described above is stored locally, on your device. It is not stored in a cloud account, because no account exists to store it in. We do not maintain a central database of user health records.
In short: your conditions, symptoms, preferences, and tracking history live on your phone — not on our servers.
4. How your data is used, and the AI explanation exception
Convita's core planning and tracking features — matching foods against your nutrient thresholds, generating your shopping list, calculating your nutrition forecast — run entirely using calculations performed on your device. No data needs to leave your device for these features to work.
One feature is the exception: when you request a plain-language, AI-generated explanation of why a recipe fits or doesn't fit your profile, a minimal set of de-identified facts already computed by the App — for example, "sodium exceeds threshold" — is sent to a third-party AI service to generate that explanation. This transmission never includes your name or any identifier tied to you, since Convita never collects one. We want to be precise here rather than overstate things: this is a real, if narrow, transmission of data off your device, used solely to generate the explanation you asked for.
Your health data is never sold, under any circumstances.
5. Third-party services
Convita does not include any third-party advertising software development kits (SDKs) or analytics trackers. The only third-party data flow is the narrow, de-identified AI explanation exception described in Section 4.
6. Children's privacy
Convita is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Because the App collects no account or identifying information from anyone, we have no practical means of knowingly collecting a child's personal information in the first place.
7. Your choices, data retention, and deletion
Because your data lives on your device rather than in a server-side account, you are always in direct control of it. You can edit or delete any condition, symptom, preference, or tracking entry within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes its locally stored data from your device, subject to your device operating system's own standard behavior.
There is no server-side account for us to delete on your behalf, because none exists.
8. Legal framework context
Convita is a general wellness app, not a covered entity under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). That said, given the health-adjacent nature of the information you may choose to enter, we design our data practices with an awareness of the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule and applicable state consumer health data laws, including Washington's My Health My Data Act. This section is provided as context for how we think about your data, not as a representation of certified legal compliance with any specific statute.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the App evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
